There are two models for INFINITI's performance crossover, the FX35, with a 3.5-liter, 303-hp engine, and the FX50, with a 5.0L, 390-hp engine. The FX35 can be had with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive; the FX50 comes in all-wheel-drive form only. Any way it's configured, the FX comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control and downshift rev matching in manual mode. Safety features include the INFINITI Advance Airbag System, which adjusts for seatbelt use, seat occupancy and crash severity when deploying the front airbags. The FX also uses anti-lock brakes, electronic brake distribution, brake assist, traction control and vehicle dynamic control. Intelligent brake assist and forward collision warning, which uses a laser rangefinder to alert the driver to an imminent collision, are optional. Standard equipment is pretty extensive for the FX, with a power moonroof, automatic on/off headlights, power liftgate and speed-sensitive windshield wipers. Inside, push-button ignition, dual-zone climate control, rear heating and cooling vents, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 10-way driver's seat are all standard. Even the 11-speaker Bose system with USB and 2 GB of storage is standard, though the FX50 gets and upgrade to 9.3 GB ? an option for the FX35. Other options for the FX35 that are standard for the FX50 include quilted leather seating, climate-controlled front seats, in-dash CD/DVD player, power tilt steering wheel, navigation system and the Around View monitor with front and rear sonar. Adaptive front headlight are options for all FX models, as are maple interior accents.
